Latest Sermon

Everybody carries a picture of how things are supposed to go, and most of us never notice it until something refuses to match it. This week follows a man who announced that everything was about to change, and then watched his own hometown try to kill him for describing what that change would look like. From there the story moves through a synagogue, a packed house with a hole in the roof, a Roman officer's home, and a funeral, and the same reaction shows up in every room: amazement, and then confusion. It ends with the one person who should have understood him best sending a question from a prison cell, and an answer that leaves one line off the list.
