The Friday Five

Here are five quick things to encourage and challenge you this weekend.

  1. Something to Consider

    • Columbia is swollen with new students, returning students, and a host of other people who are relocating into the area. Fall is also the time of year when we have many new visitors joining us each Sunday. Let me encourage you to be on the lookout for new faces and share with them a kind gesture and greeting. Our hospitality goes a long way in making people feel welcome.

  2. Upcoming Events

    • There are a lot of exciting things going on this fall at Forum. There is a myriad of ways to get connected and stay connected. Be sure and check out myforum.me, download our mobile app, 'like' us on Facebook, follow us on Instagram, and subscribe to our YouTube channel to stay up-to-date on all that is going on this fall.

  3. A New Series

    • This Sunday, we begin a new teaching series entitled "The Harvest". We will be exploring just four verses (below) in the gospel according to Matthew, and it will take us three weeks to do it - just to give you an idea of the pace we will be taking with the Scriptures.

  4. A Passage

    • Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. He said to his disciples, "The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields." Matthew 9:35-38

  5. A Prayer

    • Join me in praying this fall for God to send more workers into His fields. Let's also thank God for such a great harvest that is all around us and praise Him for inviting us to join Him in the work He is already doing.

I am praying for you this weekend and looking forward to seeing you in person or online!
