Blessing or Curse?

Blessing Curse.jpg

If you are reading along with us in the book of James you should be reading through chapter 3. Here are a tough couple of verses (7-10):

People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison. Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it curses those who have been made in the image of God. And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right!

Pray with me:
God help me see the areas of my speech that are running out of control and need to be tamed.

Practice with me:
Find ways to use your words to praise God and encourage others.

One last thing- Due to the construction surrounding our facility, it will be a little different getting into church this Sunday. There will be two entrances available: the north parking lot access off of Forum (typically the exit) and the lower lot entrance off of Nifong. The main entrance will be closed.

This weekend we are in part two of our new teaching series ‘What Would Jesus Undo,’ and I hope you will save a seat and join us for a great weekend gathering!
